  Charlie Kennedy
Head Coach

Charlie Kennedy begins his ninth season at the helm of the Maryville University softball program. In eight seasons as head coach, he has accumulated a record of 192-131-1, while also coaching several All-Conference and All-Region players, and four NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Americans.

Kennedy recorded his third best season with the Saints in 2006, as his squad posted a 25-18 overall record and 9-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). He also had seven All-SLIAC players, one All-Midwest Region player and Maryville's first, two-time All-American.

In 2005, Kennedy notched his third 30-win season, including his second with the Saints. He led Maryville to their second consecutive SLIAC regular season championship. Kennedy also coached four
All-Midwest Region players in 2005 and two NFCA All-Americans,

 including Brianne Haas, who was named the Diamond Sports DIII Catcher of the Year.

Kennedy’s head coaching experience spans 10 years at the collegiate level. Prior to taking over the Saints program, he served as the head softball coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis for three seasons and had a record of 80-64.

Kennedy earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He taught for nine years at the elementary level in Normandy, Mo., and for four years as a Physical Education/Fitness teacher at Nipher Middle School in the Kirkwood School District. He is back in the Normandy School District and currently teaches Health and Physical Education at Normandy High School.

Kennedy and his wife, Cathi, have two children, Taylor and Alex.
